FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE To Book Author Interviews: (707) 265-6500 Publisher Contact: Tom Marshall/Wisdom House Press (707) 935-1777 * Fax: 707-996-9399 New book is an impartial guide into the mysteries of our existence A quick look through the table of contents of What's It All About? A Guide to Life's Basic Questions and Answers, and you will discover that this is no ordinary book. This new kind of book is an impartial and compassionate guide for persons seeking answers to some of the basic questions of life, including such questions as: Who am I and why am I here? Is there a God? Is there life after death? These are but a few of the questions that Richard de la Chaumière, Ph.D., tackles in his new book to be published in February, 2004 by Wisdom House Press. What's It All About? is for readers who want to make up their own minds about their basic questions, and also want a personally useful but objective guide to many of the diverse answers from philosophy, science, and Eastern and Western religions - plus practical psychological wisdom to better equip them for their inquiries and to live more meaningful and happier lives. No other book provides such a comprehensive view of life, yet is written in such a lucid and lively style, understandable and appealing to the general reader. What's It All About? is for modern day truth seekers who want to expand their perspectives and have knowledge objectively presented so that they can determine their own philosophy of life. Of particular interest to readers will be the author's illuminating presentation of the evolutionary history of the human race and its quest for the elusive knowledge that would explain the purpose of human existence. But while this book presents a wide sweep of knowledge, it also provides practical psychological wisdom for truth seekers, including the importance of meeting their everyday basic needs. As the author admonishes, "The mind is a great place to visit, but no place to live." Dr. de la Chaumière, a clinical psychologist, received his undergraduate degree in Business Management from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After doing a tour of duty as an Air Force officer, he joined a national management consulting firm serving Fortune 500 companies. After several years, as he was about to enter the Harvard Business School, he decided instead to pursue his developing interest in philosophy, and studied philosophy and theology at the University of Notre Dame, where he received a master's degree. Then he was awarded and completed a three-year foundation grant for graduate studies at the Sorbonne in Paris. After returning to the United States and receiving a doctorate in psychology, he founded and directed a clinical consulting firm with three offices in the Los Angeles area. For many years, he has had a broad interest in science, especially cosmology, genetics, and evolutionary biology. What's It All About?
